Updated 20/1/10: For those new to Salsa and Salseros from out of town, this is the new line-up for Weekly partying at Salsa Clubs:

Monthly Salsa Social Studio Party @ Havana Estudio (Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur) - every last Saturday of the month! RM10 minimum required contribution includes all workshops, coke, water, pizza, and DJ SalsaSam spins awesome danceable music 10pm to 1am or 'till y'all go home! Workshops include 9:00-9.30pm free "Absolute Beginner" Salsa Workshop, 9:30-10:00pm Beginner Merengue workshop - contact Sam for more info.

Wednesday @ Aliyaa (8 Lorong Dungun, Damansara Heights). Music by DJ Xavier and DJ Steiner (alternate weeks). Small dance floor, free and easy. No cover. Contact Manager Mr Ramesh 012-292-8096.

Friday @ Paradize, The Lodge (Jalan Raja Chulan / Jalan Sultan Ismail) strongly recommended, DJ Xavier - large palce. RM10 is 1st drink charge (water or coke), come dance with us! 10:00pm-1:30am, crowd packs in around 10:30-10:45pm.

Saturday @ Modesto's, Capsquare[/url] (off Jalan Dang Wangi) recommended, DJ Fitri - large palce, no cover. Music starts 9.30pm, crowd packs in 10.30pm.

There is a thread on the updates of Salsa Cabana in this section. Taken over by Impiana Hotel and will start on 2 November, Friday and every Fridays from then on. It will be at the Oswego Bar.

Aiya got to go all the way to KL for Thursday salsa now. I rather go to Qba with the new columbian band playing live music on Thursdays.

As for the Attic, there is a regular crowd of 20-30 dancers there mostly from Havana Estudio, both the seniors and juniors so you will get a variety of dancing.

It's a nice cosy place, Charissa plays mostly nice mid tempo music so that we can take it easy, dance when we feel like it and chit chat if we are not dancing. You can bring your own music for Charissa to play too or request anything you like. The floor is a painted cement floor so you got to aware that some spots are smooth some are rough.

Drinks are a bit on the upmarket side but with the nice ambience it's ok. They serve food and cakes too.

With a growing crowd ever since it started eventhough it's a Sunday night, speaks for itself. The Attic is a great place to hang out and chill and dance a little. Take note most of us are there around 9pm till 11.30pm only.

Hi Mike, Salsa Cabana at Oswego Bar will be on Fridays, starting 2 November and not Thursdays.

Just got info from Ester Lye, that DJ Charissa will be DJ'ing on Wednesdays @ Bilique*, Bangsar, starting 23/Jan - no cover, 8pm onwards.

* Havana Estudio started a Salsa night in Dec, 2002 and then again a few years later. A few of my Salsa students from that time - e.g. Anita Tan, Shiva, Eugene, etc. - are still around dancing! Looks like Salsa is back @ Bilique!...

P/S: Heard the Bilique thinking about moving to Sundays. More updates next week (after CNY)!

Heard that The Attic is good until this Sunday. After which, will wait for updates from DJ Charissa, a.k.a. Mambolicious. The word is that Bilique might be the place to be on Sundays. Also in Bangsar, I guess we'll wait and see... Eureka / I have an idea
